If you live long enough, at some point you’ll be faced with the decision of whether to continue down a certain path (which you’ve invested time and resources in) or change direction. These are not easy choices for most people. Though if you’re used to following your own intuitive guidance with trust, big decisions can often be quite obvious.

What has worked well for me is to feel into the “liveliness” of a certain path/project/relationship/venture, and ask myself if it is still a living, breathing thing. I move on from the things that no longer feel alive– their lifespan, in its current form, has come to an end. They need to dissolve back into nothingness and allow something else to be born.

After all, life is nothing but uninterrupted creative destruction.

It doesn’t mean when something dies, it disappears forever. No path is a straight line and often the people/ideas/things you bid farewell to circle back in surprising ways. Whatever you want out of life, the way to get there is not linear–

  1. Life is a puzzle that takes forever to crack.
  2. No experience is wasted if done in good faith.
  3. But dots may not connect for a long time.
  4. You have to be patient and keep going.
  5. One day you realize all the experiences you had are actually connected in creating your unique hero’s journey.

In Episode 120 of the School of Intuition, I talk about the nonlinear journey to success, what makes experiences valuable, and how to make big decisions when it doesn’t feel easy.
