Once upon a time, dating was foolproof for women. All you needed to do was to say two words. You are asked on a date. You say yes. You are picked up and fed dinner. You say thank you. You are asked on another date. You say yes. You are proposed to, you say yes, thank you! Ok, I may be exaggerating the degree of passivity expected from women, but certainly not by much.

Depending on your taste, that kind of dating life could be super elegant or exceedingly dull. For me, watching my kitchen faucet drip water would be more exciting. I’m glad I live in a (slightly) different world now. It’s a world in transition– the old conventions don’t apply, while the new ones haven’t established themselves, in dating as well as in everything else.

Maybe that’s why there’re so many “relationship experts” out there these days, offering ostensibly conflicting advices to bewildered crowds. So here I am to save you from confusion and headache.
