Wherever there is life, there is pain. If you find that depressing, you’re missing the point of pain.
Nobody likes pain. Yet if you spend any time living at all, pain will be as inevitable as the next Christmas. Instead of seeing it as your archenemy in life, how about trying a different perspective?
In this video, I explain why pain is neither good nor bad, but merely information that your body wants you to pay attention to, so that you would continue to grow, expand, and thrive.
Listen to your body and heed that information. But don’t go the other extreme, i.e. perceive pain as indication that you’ve done something wrong and use it as a reason to hold spiritual judgment against yourself. Because the first thing your body wants you to know is always this: be gentle to yourself.

As mentioned in the video, here’s my four-step process to communicate with pain.
Step 1: Accept everything as how it should be at this moment. Try to be as neutral about the pain as possible.
Step 2: Ask the part of your body that’s experiencing the pain: what is your truth?
Step 3: Gently shift your attention to the center of the pain. Become one with the part of your body that is in pain. And listen for its message.
Step 4: Ask what your body needs from you / what you can do to help. Be prepared to discover what you don’t want to hear. And be compassionate to all aspects of you.
